Illuminate Consult LLC (“Illuminate”) and the III Ventures platform ("III Ventures") care deeply about the privacy of visitors and users. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Illuminate and III Ventures, together with their affiliates (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information through the websites located at www.iii-ventures.com and www.illuminate-consult.com, including all subdomains (collectively, the “Site”). 1. Scope
This Policy applies to all visitors to the Site regardless of location, prospective inquiries, job applicants who submit applications through www.illuminate-consult.com, and any other person whose personal information we collect through the Site.
This Policy does not apply to information collected under separate agreements, company agreements, or employee privacy notices.
The Site is hosted on the Wix.com Ltd. platform (in partnership with LegalZoom.com, Inc.). Wix acts as our data processor and collects certain technical data automatically as part of providing hosting and platform services. 2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you contact us, submit a form, or otherwise interact with the Site, we may collect:
• Contact and identity information: full name, email address, phone number, title, company or organization name, and mailing address.
• Inquiry and communication content: the message, subject matter, questions, comments, or other content submitted through any form.
• Professional information: background relevant to evaluating a potential relationship with III Ventures or Illuminate.
• Job application information (via www.illuminate-consult.com): résumé or CV, work history, educational background, professional references, and related information.
• Uploaded documents: pitch decks, business plans, CVs, or other files submitted through the Site. Uploaded documents are accessible to Illuminate and III Ventures personnel involved in evaluating your submission. We do not share uploaded documents with third parties except as described in Section 4.
• Newsletter and marketing subscriptions: email address and subscription preferences, if you opt in. You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting info@iii-ventures.com.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our platform provider automatically collect:
• Device and browser data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution, and device identifiers.
• Usage data: pages visited, time and date of visit, time spent on each page, links clicked, referring URL, and exit pages.
• Cookie and tracking data: information collected through cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, and similar technologies (see Section 6).
• Wix platform data: technical and session-level data collected by Wix on our behalf, including session identifiers and interaction data.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive personal information from professional networking platforms (such as LinkedIn), referrals, data enrichment services that supplement contact information, and analytics providers that help us understand how the Site is used.
2.4 Sensitive Personal Information
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, health data, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or biometric data) through the Site. If you express prospective interest, certain sensitive information may be collected during onboarding under separate agreements. Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the Site’s general contact forms.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:
• Responding to inquiries, questions, and communications submitted through the Site.
• Evaluating interest and marketing. Note: the interest form on the Site is a general inquiry only and does not constitute an offer to sell or a solicitation.
• Business development: building and maintaining relationships with prospects, service providers, and other participants in the ecosystem.
• Evaluating pitch decks and business submissions, which are treated as confidential and not shared with third parties except as described in Section 4. Contact info@iii-ventures.com to request deletion of business materials after review.
• Operating, maintaining, analyzing, and improving the Site and user experience.
• Legal compliance and reporting obligations.
• Fraud prevention, monitoring, and protecting the rights and safety of Illuminate, III Ventures, and the public.
• Evaluating job applications, conducting interviews, checking references, and making hiring decisions.
• Sending marketing communications with your consent where required by law. You may opt out at any time by following unsubscribe instructions or contacting info@iii-ventures.com.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share personal information only in the following limited circumstances:
• Affiliated entities: We share information between Illuminate and III Ventures and their affiliated entities for the purposes described in this Policy, including management, marketing, compliance, and business operations.
• Service providers: We share information with third-party providers who perform services on our behalf, including Wix (website hosting and CRM), IT and cloud infrastructure providers, analytics providers, email and communication platforms, legal, accounting, tax, and compliance advisors, background-check and identity-verification providers, and event management platforms. All service providers are bound by data processing agreements and are not authorized to use your information for their own purposes.
• Legal and regulatory disclosure: We may disclose information when required by applicable law, legal process, or court order, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Illuminate, III Ventures, or the public.
• Business transactions: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to confidentiality obligations and applicable law.
• With your consent: We may share information when you direct us to do so (for example, by requesting an introduction to another prospect or service provider).
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with legal obligations, and to resolve disputes. Specific retention periods:
• Contact and inquiry information: up to three (3) years from last contact, unless a longer period is required by law or we have an ongoing business relationship.
• Business-related information: minimum five (5) years from collection or end of the relationship (recordkeeping).
• Regulatory compliance records: minimum five (5) years.
• Website usage and analytics data: up to twenty-four (24) months in identifiable form; longer in aggregated or anonymized form.
• Job application information: up to two (2) years following a hiring decision.
• Legal hold and litigation records: retained for the duration of any pending or reasonably anticipated legal proceeding.
When personal information is no longer required, we securely delete, anonymize, or destroy it in accordance with our data retention and disposal practices.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the Site, analyze how visitors use the Site, and remember your preferences.
6.1 Types of Cookies
• Strictly necessary cookies: Essential for the Site to function (session management, security). These cannot be disabled.
• Performance and analytics cookies: Collect information about how visitors use the Site to help us improve it. These do not identify individual visitors.
• Functionality cookies: Allow the Site to remember your preferences (such as language or region).
• Targeting cookies: May be used to deliver relevant content and measure effectiveness of communications. We do not use these for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6.2 Analytics
The Site uses Wix Analytics, which is built into the Wix platform and active by default. Wix Analytics collects visitor data including IP address, pages visited, session duration, referral source, browser type, and device information. This data is processed by Wix on our behalf. We may also enable additional third-party analytics tools through our Wix dashboard.
6.3 Your Cookie Choices
You may control cookies through your browser settings, including declining or deleting cookies. Disabling cookies may affect Site functionality. Visitors from the EEA, UK, and other jurisdictions with cookie consent requirements are presented with a cookie consent banner when they first visit the Site. You may withdraw or change your cookie preferences at any time through your browser settings or by contacting info@iii-ventures.com.
6.4 “Do Not Track” Signals
The Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals, as there is no common industry standard for DNT. You may adjust your browser settings and cookie preferences as described above.
7. Data Security
We implement and maintain reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect personal information, including encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL), access controls and authentication requirements, regular security assessments and monitoring, and training on data privacy and security practices.
Important: No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. While we use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Do not transmit sensitive personal, financial, or legal information through the Site’s general contact forms or via unencrypted email.
In the event of a data security incident that triggers applicable notification requirements, we will notify affected individuals and relevant authorities in accordance with applicable law.
8. Your Privacy Rights
8.1 California Residents (CCPA | CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act:
• Right to Know: Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, purposes, and categories of third parties with whom we shared it.
• Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions (such as information we must retain for regulatory compliance).
• Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so this right does not apply to our current practices.
• Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: We do not collect sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted by the CCPA.
• Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not deny you services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service for exercising your rights.
To submit a request: Email info@iii-ventures.com with the subject line “CCPA Privacy Request.” We will respond within forty-five (45) days. You may also designate an authorized agent with written authorization or a power of attorney.
8.2 EEA and UK Residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: legitimate interests (responding to inquiries, managing relationships, operating the Site, fraud prevention); contract performance; legal obligation (AML, KYC, regulatory recordkeeping); and consent (marketing communications, which you may withdraw at any time).
You have the following rights:

• Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure: Request deletion of your data in certain circumstances.

8.3 International Data Transfers
Your personal data may be transferred to, and processed in, the United States or other countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home country. When we transfer personal data of EEA or UK residents outside the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law, including standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
8.4 Additional U.S. State Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of a U.S. state with an applicable privacy law, you may have additional rights similar to those described above. To exercise your rights, email info@iii-ventures.com. Illuminate and III Ventures do not discriminate against any individual for exercising their privacy rights. If we deny your request, you may appeal by contacting us with “Appeal” in the subject line.
9. AI Tools
We may use AI-assisted tools in our operations, including for communication, analysis, and content development. Any personal data processed through such tools is governed by this Policy. We require that AI service providers are contractually prohibited from using your data to train or improve their AI models.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to individuals under the age of eighteen (18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will promptly delete it. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us at info@iii-ventures.com.
11. Third-Party Links and Services
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services not operated by Illuminate or III Ventures. This Policy does not apply to those third-party sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing personal information. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party sites.

12.1 Marketing Communications
With your consent where required, we may send you promotional content by email, including newsletters, updates, and event invitations. You may opt out at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in any marketing email or by contacting info@iii-ventures.com.
12.2 Service Communications
We may contact you with important information regarding the Site or your interactions with us, including responses to inquiries, updates to this Policy, or other service-related notices. These are not marketing communications and are not subject to opt-out.

We may update or modify this Policy at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, where required by applicable law, provide notice (for example, by posting a prominent notice on the Site or by email).
